El día martes 18 de marzo del año 1947 en horario de la mañana el avión Focke-Wulf Fw 44J Stieglit registro Ee-93, perteneciente a la Escuela militar de Fuerza Aérea Argentina cuyos tripulantes eran el Suboficial Ayudante Carlos Roberto Bernández estando acompañado del Cabo Cadete de segundo año de EAM Enrique Jorge Domecq estaban realizando un vuelo de instrucción ordenado por la superioridad, cuando etaban sobrevolando en las cercanías de Río Cuarto a la altura del kilómetro 6 de la Ruta 36 de la Provincia de Córdoba se estrello con la destrucción total del avión y la muerte de sus dos tripulantes.
