El día viernes 11 de julio del año 1947 a las 09:30hs, el avión Miles Magister I registro LV-XNW c/n 430 perteneciente a la Secretaría de Estado de Aeronáutica, mientras realizaba un vuelo de práctica en formación sobre el aeródromo de San Justo, Provincia de Buenos Aires el piloto instructor José María Sánchez se rosó en vuelo con el avión Miles Magister I registro LV-XRG piloteado por el aviador José Macias a consecuencia del impacto se precipito a tierra el avión LV-XNW lo que provocó que Sanchez saltara en paracaídas, pero al estar a baja altura el paracaídas no se abrió y el piloto falleció por el impacto contra la tierra. El avión LV-XRG de Macias logro aterrizar ileso y el avión sufrió daños leves.
