El día jueves 8 de abril del año 1948 un avión privado de modelo y registro no identificado perteneciente al Aero Club de la provincia de Salta piloteado por el Sr Izquierdo estando acompañado por el Sr Oliva había despegado de dicho Aero Club para realizar un vuelo de práctica, el estado del tiempo era ventoso y frio, en el momento que estaba maniobrando para aterrizar en la pista central, el piloto tuvo un error de calculo aterrizando un en campo cercano a la pista, las ruedas del terreno se hundieron en un terreno blando lo que provoco el destrozo del tren de aterrizaje. Ambos tripulantes resultaron ilesos.
