El día jueves 19 de agosto del año 1954 un avión Miles M.14A Magister registro LV-XSE, c/n 1059 propiedad de la Secretaría de Estado de Aeronáutica, cuya tripulación estaba compuesta por el piloto Alfredo Castinacoto, argentino de 24 años, llevando como pasajero al Dr Cecchi, había despegado del Aeródromo de Villaguay, con destino al Aero Club de La Paz, provincia de Entre Ríos, Cuando estaba despegando de La Paz para retornar a Villaguay el avión se precipito a tierra falleciendo el piloto.
