El 19 de junio del año 1956 aproximadamente a las 10:40 hs, un avión de fabricación nacional FMA I.Ae-24 Calquìn registro A-53, nº/serie 053, perteneciente a la Fuerza Aérea Argentina, cuya tripulación estaba compuesta por el piloto, el Alférez Gabriel Luis Delpratto (Promoción XXI de EAM egresado el 23 de setiembre de 1955) acompañado del Mecánico, Cabo Principal Marcos Alberto Spedaletti, mientras realizaba un vuelo de instrucción cae a tierra y se incendia parcialmente, en un intento de aterrizaje forzoso, en El Pedregal, Rodeo del Medio, Maipú, provincia de Mendoza. Producto del accidente fallecen sus dos ocupantes. Avión dado de baja con un total de 602h 30´voladas.
