Written off (destroyed) 28-1-1993 when crashed into Belfast Harbour, 4 nautical miles East of Belfast City Airport, during an IMC approach following diversion. The only wreckage of the aircraft to be recovered was found on the morning of 31-1-1993 when a nose wheel and a main wheel were located, one by the Bangor Lifeboat, and one by another vessel. On the afternoon of the same day (31-1-1993) a body was found floating in the sea just off the southern entrance of Belfast Lough; the body was later positively identified as being the pilot (the sole person on board G-AXEC)

Damage sustained to airframe: Per the AAIB report, the extent of the damage was never known as the "aircraft was not recovered". as a result, the registration G-AXEC was cancelled by the CAA on 17-6-1993 as aircraft "Permanently withdrawn from use"
