El martes 5 de junio de 1945 a primeras horas de la tarde el avión North American NA-16 registro Ae 311. Número de serie 34-398 cuya tripulación estaba compuesta por el piloto Cabo Mayor Luis Rafael Simois, lo acompañaba el Cabo Juan Carlos Segura, cerca de Estación Toledo, unos 10 km al este de la Escuela de Aviación Militar, en la provincia de Córdoba, mientras volaba para instrucción formando parte de la escuadrilla avanzada, cae un entrenador, muriendo en el acto los cadetes alumnos de IV año:
