El día jueves 20 de agosto de 1931 a las 08:30hs un hidroavión Savoia Marchetti S.59bis matrícula E-24 de la Armada argentina se estrelló en el mar al despegar de Puerto Belgrano, Punta Alta, Provincia de Buenos Aires. El piloto era el Teniente de Fragata Isaac Cadaval, los tripulantes Suboficial Mecánico Oreste Molina y el marinero Armando Álvarez. Molina y Alvarez murieron en el accidente, mientras que el piloto Cadaval murito por quebradura de cráneo en el Hospital Naval de Puerto Belgrano el día 21 de agosto a la 07:30hs.
