A Mooney M20 crashed on approach in low visibility. The pilot from Stuttgart (57) died.

" The pilot asked to land at 11:46 am ", confirmed Ludwig Vogel, the spokesman of the airport. A landing missed in 300 meters of the runway. If far that the control tower did not see him. " The landing was authorized then the tower lost contact ". The Fire Department sets on fire was then sent on the spot but it was already too late for the pilot.

The registration has not been confirmed. N400MW circled the area east of Saarbrücken shortly before the accident, according to records.
