El día 2 de abril del año 1936 en el aeródromo de Campo Sarmiento de la Aviación Naval de Puerto Belgrano, a las 06:35hs el avión Curtiss 16-E Kelito 0028 1-E-28 c/n 3528 piloteado por el Guardamarina Ronaldo J Rossitel estaba realizando un vuelo de práctica y en momento de descender para aterrizar en el Campo, chocó contra la copa de un árbol lo que provocó estrellarse contra el suelo, el tren de aterrizaje quedo completamente destrozado, las alas recibieron daños severos, el motor quedo dañado ante el golpr brusco contra el suelo. El piloto ante el impacto fue arrojado violentamente contra la cabina de comandos pegando en ella con su rostro.
