Narrative:
On 2 January 1943 Sgt Raymond Britto of 52 OTU RAF was killed at 14:30hrs in an accident on Aston Down airfield. The engine of his Spitfire Ia AR240 failed, and he attempted to glide in but span in hitting the ground near the watch tower building. Britto was of Maraval Village, Trinidad, and died at the age of 25.
