Narrative:
First registered 15.9.1933 to Flt Lt H.T.P. Wood & W.J. Byrne, Croydon. Operated in 1934-35 by Provincial Airways, at Denbury, near Newton Abbot, Devon, and named "Saturn". Re-registered 14.12.1935 to League of Nations Union, London, still based at Croydon. G-ACKD arrived on 21.1.1936 in Addis Ababa. Etrhiopia, piloted by Charles F. Hayter (British). The aircraft was painted white overall with prominent red crosses, indicating that it was to be used as an air ambulance.

Written off 24.2.1936: Shortly after takeoff from Akaki, Oromia, Ethiopia, while climbing, the twin engine aircraft went out of control and crashed. The crew was performing a flight within Ethiopia on behalf of the Ethiopian Red Cross. Both occupants were injured while the aircraft was destroyed.

Registration G-ACKD cancelled by the Air Ministry 2.12.1935 due to "destruction or permanent withdrawl from use of aircraft"
