Shortly after takeoff for an aerial application flight at a a banana plantation, the pilot noticed that the engine was gradually losing power and proceeded to release the load, approximately 105 gallons of agrochemicals.
When 2.5 nautical miles from the airstrip the aircraft lost altitude and impacted against the ground in a controlled manner. In this event, the sole pilot was unhurt and the aircraft was seriously damaged.
