Narrative:
Gloster Meteor F.Mk.8 WH443: Notified as awaiting collection 22/4/52, delivered 23/4/52 (next day). Operational service career was with 247 Squadron, 54 Squadron RAF Odiham, Hampshire, and then as "A" of 25 Squadron RAF West Malling

Written off (damaged beyond repair) 10/1/56: Belly landed at RAF West Malling, Maidstone, Kent, after the undercarriage jammed. Aircraft deemed as "damaged beyond economical repair" and the remains were allocated to the Civil Defence School at Eastwood Park, Falfield, Gloucestershire for Ground Instructional Use (although no "M" number was allocated).

Later (by or soon after April 1968 when Eastwood Park was closed, and Civil Defence was disbanded) sent to Hucknall, Nottinghamshire for further Ground Instructional Use. Finally scrapped at Hucknall on 9/7/76 over 21 years after its crash
