A Cessna 172 Skyhawk from Pointe-à-Pître (Guadeloupe - French West Indies) crashed on a hill just near the Terre-de-Bas airfield around 10 am (local time) on May 1st.
According to witnesses the plane was trying to land when the wind deported it to right. The Cessna hit the hill nearby. The local airfield is known to be a tricky approach, and all the pilots need a specific certification for landing there.
3 people were onboard, a couple and their young son. The kid was ejected from the Cessna, the pilot lightly wounded, but the wife was severely injured.
