Narrative:The pilot reported that, during the landing roll, he applied the brakes too hard, and the tailwheel-equipped airplane nosed down.
The airplane sustained substantial damage to the fuselage.
The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
Probable Cause: The pilot’s overapplication of the brakes during the landing roll, which resulted in a nose-over.
