The F/A-18F crashed after a reported "mechanical problem" neat Minami-Daito island, Okinawa, Japan. Both crew ejected, and were recovered uninjured 25 minutes after. Japanese media reports an engine trouble.

U.S. Navy Aircraft Crashes in Philippine Sea

A F/A-18 from Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5 experienced a mechanical issue resulting in the crew ejecting. The crew was immediately and safely recovered by USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76).
