The firefighting helicopter crashed in the river as it tried to take in water. The two pilots survived the crash, but a mechanic died.

The news states that the accident helicopter was produced in 1997. In ATIS KOREA, it indicated that the only Ka-32T helicopter operated by Korea Forest Service, based in Gimpo airport and produced in 1997 is HL9419. Also the koreajoongangdaily news article shows code 613 which belong to HL9419.
