A China Airlines Boeing 747-400, registration B-18211 performing flight CI687 from Taipei (Taiwan) to Denpasar Bali (Indonesia) with 339 passengers and 19 crew, experienced severe clear air turbulence about 150 minutes before arrival in Bali. 3 cabin crewmembers and 19 passengers received minor injuries; 2 crewmembers and 1 passenger received serious injuries. The airplane landed in Denpasar without further incident. The injured were rushed to the local hospital.
