Narrative:Takeoff at 01:21 hrs for a Feindflug - operational sortie. On this night, RAF Bomber Command raided Berlin.
The aircraft was hit by 'friendly' Flak over Hannover-Vahrenwald. A direct Flak hit, which killed the Bordfunker (radio operator) and damaged the port wing. The pilot and his Bordschütze (gunner) bailed out by parachute at 05:30 hrs, the pilot landing at Heißum, Liebenburg, Niedersachsen.
With the autopilot turned on, the aircraft flew into Slovakia and crashed after running out of fuel.
