A Lake LA-4-200 Buccaneer experienced a hard landing subsequent to a inflight Mayday call to the waters of Pitt Lake in Coquitlam, Lower Mainland, British Columbia. The amphibious airplane sustained substantial damage and partially submerged.
The sole pilot onboard was not injured.
