The missing aircraft, an experimental William E McClain built CH750 Cruzer, impacted heavily wooded terrain northeast of Birmingham in Boaz, Etowah County, Alabama. The airplane sustained sustained damage and the sole owner/builder/pilot onboard received fatal injuries.
