Forty seven minutes after takeoff from Rion-des-Landes towards Marmande the unit falls out of gas. The pilot landed the campaign.
Five days before, the pilot took off from Marmande to Rion-des-Landes with 160 liters of fuel on board to perform towing a banner campaign. Since takeoff, he had flown for 14 hours 32 and added 325 liters of gasoline.
Consumption calculation shows that 485 liters of fuel were used in 15 h 19 of flight, which gives an hourly consumption of 31.7 l / h. The flight manual states the hourly consumption of about 32 l / h at 65% power, 35 l / h at 70% and 38 l / h at 75%.
The pilot reported not having read the part of the flight manual on fuel consumption. He managed the fuel on the basis of an hourly consumption of 30 l / h value communicated by his employer.
