Narrative:Iran Aseman Airlines flight EP3962, a Fokker 100, aborted takeoff from runway 29L at Mehrabad Airport.
Engine no.2 (RR Tay 650-15) suffered an uncontained failure during the takeoff roll, forcing the flight crew to reject the takeoff.
Post-incident inspection revealed an un-contained failure of number 2 engine. The disintegration appeared to be of the high pressure turbine (HPT) . Engine fragments had penetrated the fuselage, with some passing in front of the flight attendant sitting in the aft cabin.
