The aircraft experienced severe damage to the elevators and horizontal stabilizer and a subsequent hard landing and landing gear collapse during an emergency landing at Leesburg Exec Airport (JYO/KJYO), Leesburg, Virginia. The airplane sustained extensive damage and the two occupants on board were not injured during the incident. Postaccident examination of the airplane revealed the left elevator was partially separated, with the outboard portion of it well below the position of the horizontal stabilizer. The airplane was secured pending further examination of the elevator primary and secondary flight control system.
