The aircraft, a Piper PA46R-350T Matrix, registration N40TS with a sole pilot onboard, is reported missing in mountainous terrain over Kern County south of Tehachapi, California.
The aircraft and deceased pilot were located February 15, 2021.
Looking at the tracking info on ADS-B exchange it appears the aircraft stalled because the autopilot was trying to hold altitude during downdrafts, with ground speeds as low as 23 kts and a decent rate of over -16000'/min in a possible flat spin
