Narrative:
McDonnell Douglas F-4B Phantom II Bu No 149412/'AB' of VF-14, US Navy: Written off in a nighttime landing accident on USS Franklin D. Roosevelt (CVA-42), Cretan Sea, off Crete, when the undercarriage collapsed in a 'hard' landing. Both crew survived with minor injuries, but neither ejected.

NOTE: AS the incident took place on the night of 11/12 November 1964, various published sources give either 11 November or 12 November 1964 as the crash date. It is not known if the aircraft crashed before or after midnight
