A HOAC DV20 Katana 100 crashed after struck a wind turbine in fog in Gebersreuth, Gefell, Saale-Orla in Germany.
The pilot died in the crash and the aircrtaft was destroyed
It seems, that the airplane not crashed after a struck with a wind turbine, because it was flying at 11.000 feet. The description (fog) and the fact that a DV20 service ceiling is max. 10.000 feet suggest that it was an icing problem. A look at the flight profile shows that the speed increased as the machine lost a massive amount of altitude.
