F-AITX Latecoere 32 (MSN 84); first registered 4.10.28 (C of R 1951) to Cie Generale Aeropostale, Paris (based Marseille). C of T 2.30 when upgraded to Latécoère 32/3

Written off (damaged beyond repair) 24.2.31: Aircraft was operating a cargo/mail flight between Algiers and Marseille. Crew encountered strong headwinds all along the route from Algiers. After overflying Cap de Creus, Catalonia, both engines failed. Double engine failure due to fuel exhaustion caused by strong headwinds.

Crew attempted to ditch the aircraft off Banyuls-sur-Mer, Pyrénées Orientales. The crew of the Spanish cargo ship "Stella" was quickly on the scene, but during the towing operations, the float plane sank and the radio navigator Bossard (who was still on board) was drowned. The pilot was Edmond Larbonne.

The wreckage of the seaplane and part of the cargo of mail bags were found three days later by fishermen from Cadaques, near Cape Creus, some 25 km to the south. (This has led to some published sources giving the crash location as Cape Creus in error).

Registration F-AITX cancelled March 1931
