Aircraft was carrying out an international schedule passenger flight (routed Paris – Casablanca – Dakar – Buenos Aires). While on the Casablanca-Dakar leg, aircraft crashed while cruising over Morocco at an altitude of 3,000 metres. The engine caught fire, and the crew elected to make an emergency landing. Aircraft crashed in flames some fifty kilometers from Cape Bojador, Laâyoune-Boujdour-Sakia, El Hamra, Morocco. Six of the seven occupants were injured (aircraft was carrying a crew of three plus four passengers and mail) while the engineer Jean Reig was killed. The one person killed and the four seriously injured - Marcel Goret (pilot), Frédéric Marret (radio operator/navigator), Abdallah (interpreter) and Henri Bourgat.
