CAUSE
The investigation could not determine the cause of the accident with incontrovertible certainty. However, it is possible to hypothesize that the event is attributable to the pilot losing control of the glider in flight, following a strong downdraft that affected the aircraft when it was at a reduced distance from the ground.
The pilot's limited overall flight experience may have contributed to the event.
