A Piper PA-31-350 Navajo Chieftain, N101MA, sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident while attempting an emergency landing on Rwy 11 at Geauga County Airport (7G8), Middlefield, Ohio.
There were no injuries, and the aircraft received substantial damage.
Preliminary information indicates the aircraft experienced a loss of engine power and tried to make an emergency landing at the airport but came in too fast and was unable to stop before continuing off the runway and crashed in a field.
The accident happened at 9:07 a.m., according to Ohio State Highway Patrol.
