Narrative:
During the take-off run, the pilot made the decision to abort, due to a perceived problem with the security of the cowling on top of the engine. The pilot was unable to stop the aircraft in the distance remaining, resulting in the aircraft running off the end of the runway, through the end fence, and over rough ground. This resulted in the right-hand undercarriage leg failing and the propeller separating from the engine. The pilot was not injured. Following the accident, the engine cowling was inspected and found to be secure.
