Narrative:
10 September 2021: DJI Matrice 300 RTK UAS substantially damaged when fell to the ground at Ilminster, Somerset. The incident was the subject of an AAIB Record-only Investigation, published on 10 March 2022, and the following is the summary from the AAIB Report:

"The UAS was being flown for a survey at approximately 150 metres from the pilot and observer. There was an unexpected crunching sound and the UAS fell to the ground. The flight log recorded a 22 m/s (metres per second) rate of decent and a loss or malfunction to a propeller or motor, however the precise cause of the malfunction could not be determined"

Per the AAIB report "the UAS fell to the ground...and [there was] a loss or malfunction to a propeller or motor".

Ilminster is a market town and civil parish in the South Somerset district of Somerset, England; the town now lies just east of the junction of the A303 (London to Exeter) and the A358 (Taunton to Chard and Axminster).
