Narrative:
3 June 2021: DJI Phantom 4 UAS substantially damaged due to structural failure in flight and collision with a tree at Barnham, near Thetford, Suffolk. The incident was the subject of an AAIB Record-only Investigation, published on 9 September 2021, and the following is the summary from the AAIB Report:

"The four rotor UAS lost a rotor during flight and fell through a tree. During replacement of all the rotors it was noticed that one appeared to lock in place with half a turn. However, by holding the motor and applying pressure to the rotor it became unlocked".

Damage Sustained to UAS
Per the AAIB the UAS "lost a rotor during flight and fell through a tree". In addition, the UAS sustaiend impact damage due to falling from altitude after collision with a tree at speed.

Barnham is a village and civil parish in the West Suffolk district of the English county of Suffolk about 3 miles (4.8 km) south of Thetford and 9 miles (14.5 km) north of Bury St Edmunds on the A134.
