Narrative:
4 April 2021: UAS DJI Phantom 4 Pro substantially damaged when crashed due to power failure at Holywell, Clwyd, Flintshire, North Wales CH8. The incident was the subject of an AAIB Record-only Investigation, published on 8 July 2021, and the following is the summary from the AAIB Report:

"The UAS was flown to a height of 55 metres (approximately 180 feet) for handling checks when power to the motors was lost. It descended rapidly colliding with the ground close to the take-off point".

Damage Sustained to UAS
Per the AAIB report "the UAS descended rapidly colliding with the ground from [an altitude of] 55 metres (180 feet) above ground level". The damage sustained is presumed to be severe due to impact damage caused by the UAS falling from such an altitude.

Holywell (Welsh: Treffynnon) is a market town and community in Flintshire, Wales. It lies to the west of the estuary of the River Dee. The community includes Greenfield.
