Destruido en accidente el día 4 de septiembre del año 1933 aproximadamente a las 10hs, una escuadrilla de aviones Avro y Dewoitine volaba en formación sobre la localidad de Hurlingham había despegado de la Base Aérea de El Palomar, cuando uno de los aviones, el Dewoitine D.21 Registro 5 entro rápidamente en tirabuzón y se estrelló contra el suelo en las cercanías de la fábrica de neumáticos Gooyer, destrozándose totalmente y muriendo al instante sus tripulantes el Subteniente Alejandro Ferrer, soltero de 23 años y el Subteniente Juan E. Gamarra, soltero de 22 años ambos alumnos del segundo curso de pilotaje.
