Narrative:
Cessna 172D G-ASPT, at the time owned by Dr. Henry (Harry) Oscar Holm, crashed on landing at Christchurch Aerodrome on 16 July 1969. A contemporary report in "Yorkshire Air News" (November 1969) states "force landed 3 miles east of Hurn and damaged"

However, the CAA records the ownership of the Cessna as being sold on and ownership transferred on 12-5-1970 to Charles Herbert Parker, of Wimborne, Dorset and its registration subsisting until 7-8-1984, when it was deleted as 'permanently withdrawn from use'. Possible intended for repairs/rebuild, or as use as a source of spares, which would account for it "lingering on" the UK civil register for up to 14 years.

However, a website on the subject of the airstrip at Dairy House Farm, Nantwich, Cheshire (Alongside the B5074, North of Worleston, 2.5 nautical miles North of Nantwich - see link #5): "In the mid 1970s it seems only one aircraft was based here, the Cessna 172D G-ASPT" which would indicate that G-ASPT was still flying long after its 16-7-1969 accident...
