WHILE ON THE FIRST FLT OF THE ACFT A HARD LANDING WAS MADE AND DIRECTIONAL CONTROL WAS LOST. THE ACFT TRAVELED OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RWY. SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE WAS SUSTAINED DURING THE HARD LANDING.
