Narrative:
A Cessna R182 Skylane RG experienced the front nose axle/wheel falling off due to a faulty cotterpin allowing the nut to back off. The pilot did a soft field landing on Runway 17 which then led to grinding down the front nose landing gear fork. No damage was sustained to the airframe, only damage was to the front nose wheel fork. Happened at Llano Municipal Airport (KAQO), Llano, Texas.
The pilot was not injured.
