El día 19 de junio del año 1947, el avión Curtiss Hawk H-75O registro 619 s/n 12786, perteneciente a la Fuerza Aérea Argentina, cuyo piloto era el Capitán Viola, mientras practicaba un aterrizaje sin flaps con un Curtiss 75-O, una nube de polvo cubrió la cabecera. El piloto no apreció que tocaba largo y al darse cuenta de que llegaba al alambrado del fondo del campo, aplicó violentamente los frenos y capotó. El piloto resulto ileso y al avión gravemente dañado.
