17 October 2024: DJI Inspire 2 UAV sustained significant damage when control was lost and the UAV crashed at Edinburgh, East Lothian, Scotland. The incident was the subject of an AAIB Record Only Investigation, and the following is the summary from the AAIB report, published on 9 January 2025:
"The UAV, at the maximum operating distance within visual line of sight, was reported to have descended to the ground in a spin".
Damage Sustained to UAV:
Per the AAIB Report the UAV "reported to have descended to the ground in a spin". The UAV is therefore presumed to have sustained significant impact damage upon striking the ground.
