Narrative:Following landing at Birmingham Airport, after a positioning flight from East Midlands Airport, it
was found that an access panel had detached from the No.1 engine pylon. Associated minor
damage was found on the leading edge of the left tailplane. The aircraft’s crew had not been aware of any problem until the missing panel was noticed after arrival at Birmingham. The associated
access panel was not recovered, but its detachment was reported to have been attributed to lack of
proper securement
