Narrative:Approximately 1 minute after take off, the pilot reported his constant speed unit (CSU) was U/S and that his tach was registering 1600 RPM. 2 minutes later he reported problem persisting and that he believed propeller was in fine pitch. He rejoined the circuit to land and reported his engine temp was pegged. Black smoke began to appear and as landing gear was lowering, white smoke also began to pour out envelopping the cockpit. The aircraft rolled over on its back and went straight in just as it began to turn crosswing to line the runway. The pilot was killed in the crash.
