While engaged in a patrol in the Nijmegen (Gelderland) area, the aircraft was damaged by a Focke-Wulf of the 8./JG 26, flown by Leutnant Wilhelm Hofmann.
The pilot, W/O M.T. Thomas, bailed out over Noord-Brabant and survived.
