Narrative:
Emergency landing after one of the engines stopped working. The Junkers had taken off for a Heimatflug (non-operational sortie). The machine came down north of cafe Azink, near the Zwaluwstraat road. The pilot, Feldwebel Mayer and the observer, Oberleutnant Müller were severely wounded and taken to Lazarett Gronau (hospital in Germany) where they died a short while later.
The weather conditions were good at the time of the crash.

Two crew members are buried in Gronau, Germany. Two other crew members are buried in Ysselsteyn, the Netherlands:
