A Bölkow Phoebus C lost control when approaching runway 06 at Pennewitz Airfield (EDOS), Pennewitz, Ilmenau, Thuringia, and crashed about 100 metres short of the runway in a wooded area.
The pilot perished and the glider was destroyed.
