Narrative:Handley Page Hampden Mk.I AT121 (ZN-A) of 106 Squadron, RAF Coningsby. Lost on combat operations on the evening of 28/1/1942. Took off at 18:05 from RAF Coningsby (Target: Münster). Crashed 22:31 due to engine failure onto a house in the Langestraat at Den Helder, Noord-Holland, Netherlands Aircraft hit by 1/lei Res Flak Abt 845 at 22:23.
Crew:
Pilot: Flight Lt. H J W Bareham - survived, captured, became PoW at Stalag Luft 3 Sagan & Belaria. PoW Number 1412.
Observer: Pilot Officer J G Whiting RNZAF- survived, captured, became PoW at Stalag Luft 3 Sagan & Belaria. PoW Number 1443
