Handley Page Hampden Mk.I AD937 (QR-G) of 61 Squadron, RAF. Lost on combat operations on night of 7-8/7/1941. Target: Monchengladbach. Took off from RAF Hemswell at 23:00 hours on the evening of 7/7/1941. Shot down by a night-fighter (Oberleutnant Reinhold Knacke of the 2./NJG 1, who was flying a Bf 110 from Venlo airfield) and crashed 01:17 hours on 8/7/1941 at Houthem-Meersen (Limburg), 6 km North East of Maastricht, Holland. (At approximate Coordinates 50°52'N, 5°48'E). Of the crew of four, three were killed, one survived (albeit injured) to be captured and taken as POW
