Hawker Hurricane N2556 (YB-I) 17 Squadron, RAF: Lost on combat operations - officially described as "Acting Flight Lieutenant M S Donne: report of death; Hurricane N2556 failed to return from an operational flight over The Hague, The Netherlands, 11 May 1940". Shot down during patrol in combat with Bf 109s of JG 51 at Dike View Farm, West Biesakkerweg, Numansdorp, Zuid-Holland near Rotterdam, Netherlands. Pilot killed

Crew: Flight Lt (33186) Michael Stephen DONNE (pilot) RAF - Killed in action; buried at Numansdorp Protestant Cemetery, Zuid Holland, Netherlands

17 Squadron lost 5 Hurricanes in a few minutes, all by JG 51 who claimed 5 Hurricanes in combat over Doordrecht.
